I will post in more detail about some of the highlights of my "tour" of US and Canada over next couple of weeks as this post is basically a thank you to some of those individuals that opened up their firms, their hospitality, their minds and even their homes, not just to me but to other representatives from the Australian legal profession over the last few weeks.

It started way back on 16 May when these 7 Aussies attended an ALA Conference in Nashville: Andrew Barnes,Valmai Vickers,Begonia Silvestre, and Warrick McLean all national Board members of ALPMA,together with Dan Simmonds,Andrew Price,& David Kearney.

From Nashville most of us travelled to New York City and we got to meet with firms and people involved in the legal industry including Lesley Skillen partner at boutique whistleblower firm Getnick & Getnick, Andy Daws North American VP of Riverview Law,Daniel Hargraves of Hargraves, McConnell & Costigan and Jonathon Perle of Privileged Communications, among others.

From NYC some of us headed north west to Chicago and a big thankyou goes out to those who hosted us including Kim Craig of SeyfarthLean Consulting, Patrick Johansen ("Patrick On Pricing") who recently joined Seyfarth Shaw,Pat Lamb and Nicole Auerbach from the timeless Valorem Law Group and Skip Herman,Hamilton Hill and Carolyn Franz from top end trial attorneys Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott.

Thanks to my friend and colleague legal thought leader Mitch Kowalski I then flew to Toronto to attend and speak at a legal innovators round table held at the brilliant Legal Innovation Zone of Ryerson University before spending an evening with Peter Carayiannis President & Founder of Conduit Law.

Eventually (via New Orleans, Jackson & Memphis) it was back to where it all began in Nashville to speak at Tim McKey's Vista Consulting Team's 5th Annual Plaintiff Law Firm Conference where I not only met some excellent personal injury lawyers but also heard some great presentations by Chad Dudley, Sean Bell, Dave Delaney & Arnie Malham.

To the many others I met, spoke to and exchanged views with on these travels I thank you for enriching my knowledge.
